Mariko Mori: All That Shines is co-curated by Alexandra Munroe, Senior Curator at Large, Global Arts, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation, and Kataoka Mami, Director, Mori Art Museum. Organized by the Mori Art Museum in collaboration with the Asian Art Initiative of the Guggenheim Museum, New York, the exhibition marks Mori's first show in Japan since Pure Land at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo in 2002.
The retrospective brings together approximately 80 works spanning three decades of Mori's practice — interactive installations, sculptures, videos, photographs, drawings, and archival material never before shown publicly. Arranged in loose chronological order, the exhibition follows Mori's path from her early performance-based photography exploring post-human identity to the immersive, contemplative environments of her recent work, tracing her long engagement with ancient cosmology, interdependence, and ecological stewardship.
